Video testimonials are incredibly powerful but are not always easy to make. British people often feel uncomfortable talking when there is someone in the room who may not like what they have to say.
Testimonials are just that, someone talking about you, the service you provide or the product you sell and sometimes they might not be seen as we would hope. Thats fine though, because that helps us improve our offering.
Here’s a few things to consider about testimonials.
Did you know 92% of customers read online reviews before buying (Big Commerce). It shouldn’t be a surprise to you as we’ve all done it whether checking which hotel to stay in or shopping online.
Sure, you have your adverts and your sales force out there promoting your business but 88% of consumers trust online testimonials and reviews as much as recommendations from friends or family (Big Commerce). Thats a huge amount isn’t it
OK so you’ve got a few reviews, what next?
Firstly review the reviews! Do the reviews you have reflect your current offering? Since Covid19 many businesses have changed the way they work so is the review about the fantastic dining experience in your hotel truly reflective of the takeaways you’ve offered since your dining room was closed?
If not then get some current reviews, why? Heres 4 reasons:
-
- They reflect your business authentically
- They provide good news content for your social feeds
- They show you’re still trading
- They create a sense of anticipation for when you re-open
How many reviews is enough?
The simple answer here is you can’t ever have enough. If you generate a hundred reviews now will they still be relevant in 6 months when the person who delivered that amazing service has been promoted or moved on? Will they be relevant when the market has changed and competitors now offer the same gold standard service as you?
As humans we like to feel like we belong, like part of a tribe and we will defend what we believe in. How many times have you heard a debate over Apple vs Android phones. Often users will defend their choice. In the same way as we support football teams or join clubs, we all like to belong and have our choices validated by like minded people.
This is the same for those buying your product or service. Consider that 12% of consumers read more than 10 reviews (Vendasta) and 40 or more reviews are needed before consumers will consider a star-rating accurate (Opt-In Monster). More importantly though 50 or more reviews on multiple products pages can increase conversions by 4.6% (Big Commerce).
Do you need more reasons to generate testimonials?
Are you convinced yet about the need for reviews? What if I told you Using customer testimonials regularly can generate approximately 62% more revenue (Strategic Factory), and customer testimonials placed alongside more expensive items increased conversion rates 380% (Power Reviews). Surely now you want to know what you can do to generate more reviews as quickly and as easily as possible.
The good news is at Bellyflop we have just launched a new video service which will allow you to create video testimonials and reviews from your clients with no more technical ability than it takes to write an email.
Surely that is expensive right?
Wrong. We have a few pricing models available meaning that most clients will pay around £15 – £20 for a video if they are producing 3 or 4 a week, oh and that is inclusive of VAT so if you take that off we’re looking at £13 – £17 each. If you have a high throughput of clients though, perhaps you run a hotel or beauty salon then maxing out the plans would mean you could pay less than 25p per film!
Where can you use them?
The short answer is wherever you want! These video testimonials make great social media content, they can be used on your website and even on the checkout page of your website to re-assure customers that others have had a fantastic service from you so they can expect the same too.
By now I guess you may want to find out a little more about this new product, just head to : https://www.bellyflop.tv/bellyflop-video/ if you would like more information though please feel free to contact me and I will happily arrange a video conference to walk you through the features.
