Every year 97.4 Rock FM in Lancashire support the Cash For Kids charity with their ‘Mission Christmas’ appeal. The appeal aims to make sure that as many children as possible in the local area have presents to open at Christmas. There are over 500 drop off points in the local area where people can donate toys to the appeal – and for the last few years our self storage site in Preston has acted as #MissionHQ – in other words it’s the place where all of the donations are stored safely and sorted, ready to be given out to local kids. This year was record breaking with an unbelievable £433,800 worth of presents donated!

This year our role in helping the charity went to a new level, and on Tuesday 16 December, 97.4 Rock FM broadcasted live from our Preston storage site for 12 hours, covering the donations coming in from the overwhelmingly generous people and businesses in the area. The day was incredible and it really showed how successful the appeal has been this year. To give you an idea of how exciting it was, we made this short video where Rain, the manager of our Preston site and Rock FM’s own Paul Webster, explain what the appeal is all about.
